TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EVENT

Free to St Louis Canoe & Kayak Club Members.  $10 one time event/insurance fee for non-ACA members

Annual skills clinic for paddlers of all abilities and skill levels.  Your will learn while having  fun! Strokes, techniques for speed or endurance, rescues, and a host of other interesting stuff. You may be able to try out different boats, paddles, and equipment.  Prepare to get wet so bring a change of clothes.  There is a nice bathroom with coin operated showers. 

We will meet at the pavilion by the Concession stand/swimming beach.   There is a $5 per vehicle day use fee (cash).   Bring your $5 cash and a pen to complete the parking slip.   If you have a kayak cart or some kind of wheels to transport your kayak, bring them!   (Likewise, if you are bringing a cooler, one with wheels is a good idea.)

You must provide your own boat and gear (PFD and paddle minimally).  There are a very limited number of rental boats.   If you need one, email Dave Haessig at [email protected] .   Please do not register for the Clinic until you know you have a boat and gear to use.

Non-cotton clothes, sunglasses with a strap, hat, paddle, life jacket, water, a chair, sunscreen, shoes, and a spray skirt if you have one, food and beverages for lunch or you can eat at the Concession stand.  Non-Alcoholic Beverages Only while on the water!

After the class, join us for supper at the Concession stand.  They are bringing in extra special food for us.   They are waiving the rental fee for us so let’s show our appreciation by buying food at the Concession stand.

Students will be grouped by skill level. Camping is available in the recreation area for those wishing to make a weekend of it.  There may be an evening paddle on Friday for those who came in early.
